On Saturday, a former Ohio judge was arrested and accused of murdering his estranged wife. That same judge had been imprisoned after a 2014 assault in which he punched his wife 20 times and slammed her head into the dashboard of their car with their two children watching. But after he was released from prison, he was chosen by the mayor of Cleveland over 15 other candidates for a job with the city, and Rep. Marcia Fudge, who is currently thinking of challenging House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to be Speaker of the House, wrote a letter recommending him for the city job.

It's sad that this doesn't surprise me at all.

I read an earlier article on this, he was hired by the Mayor's office because he was the best candidate for the job, and the question about ever being convicted of a crime was no longer on the city employment application. Can't be stigmatizing the felons you know.
