The lawsuit against Derek Zeanah got settled. He got .us domain, I moved the forum to http://gunrightsmedia.com
-
Got it put in favorites. Congrats on getting this behind you so you can move on.
-
good to hear it's over! sorry you lost the domain. care to let out any details?
-
Thanks, Oleg. Got it bookmarked. The old bookmarks have been deleted, so we're all set.

He can't.

kinda figured

He can't.
Typically, when a civil lawsuit is settled, the settlement agreement contains a confidentiality clause so that neither party can disclose the details of the settlement, and sometimes the lawsuit itself. I have drafted scores of such clauses over the years.

Well, I am amazed that D'Wreck got not only THR.ORG but also THR.US, because I didn't think he should have either. But ... the court didn't ask for my opinion. (Their loss.) I AM glad it's over and we can move on.
And move on we shall. Not visiting THR.ORG will be easy, as I have conscientiously avoided it since the schism anyway. So I'll just have to reprogram my bookmarks.

THR was BOUGHT by Derek. Oleg didn't lose it.
I'm guessing the situation was that Derek and his lawyers knew Oleg would most likely win due to the broad facts of the case, and Oleg knew that Derek and his lawyers could drag it out way longer than it was worth it to fight.
IMO, whatever Oleg with GRM will probably outshine the old THR in the long run, because it's his photography, and visiblity from a-human-right.com etc. that draws people over.
And I do think the idea of a forum that specializes more in activism and pro-RKBA politics and the "war of public opinion" is a good one. There's already a ton of forums organized around the various technical and collecting aspects.
Being unique and finding a niche is important. Aside from the open carry/CCW boards etc. which specialize in mainly well... "carry", I don't think there's any forum dedicated to RKBA.

Oleg, best wishes for your current and future ventures =)

There has been for two or three years: http://www.gun-politics.org

The thread and post count there tells the tale though.
APS is a very minor board, and there's individual members here who do that site's entire post count every two years.

Interesting--it took my name and password, and shows all my posts. So THR is literally gone, but the forum continues to exist.
Congrats, Oleg. I know you can't comment, but I hope Derek took a shellacking!

Which one? Dot org will have everything. Dot us shows the right statistics (user join date x/xx/xxxx, yyyy messages), but history is truncated. Which is too bad, since a search will only hit the last 2 years worth of postings, which is quite a bit less than what exists on the thr.org side.
-
hurrah for GRM!
-
Just to be clear, this thread isn't to become a bashing vehicle of .org.
I'm going to sticky it to help make the transition.
Little help request of the APS membership, too: If you stumble across any archived links to thr.us, please fix them to gunrightsmedia.

Went to register at GRM, the "Forum Rules" box is verbatim from the old site, including referring to it as "The High Road" and talking about TFL as a closed site. Just fyi for Oleg and the admin types over there.

Oleg's always been a [tinfoil], so he probably got what he had coming. :-)

Derek! Long time no see! =D

If Oleg is a member of the tin-foil-hat crowd, then by comparison I'm nuttier than Nick Nolte and Mel Gibson in a nose-over-tail crashing Vanagon.

I suspect gunkid don't know the meaning of that emoji.
