Title: Standup Comedy as politics

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Rt Hon William Hague, MP:

Funniest political speech of the year?

Heh.  smiley

I thought you were going to post something like a comedian trying to be a politician, but failing miserably on both counts.

Two examples...

I though Christopher Titus was great in Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding.  His most recent show, though, was awful.  He tried to be a political commentator instead of a comedian.  I tried to watch it, hoping it would get better.  It didn't.  I turned it off after twenty minutes.

George Lopez was a knee-slapper in Why You Crying?  But America's Mexican was an hour of high-volume Bush-bashing and anti-anyonebutmexicans, both of which were screamed at the viewer and liberally laced with Spanish invectives obviously and maliciously aimed straight at caucasians.

Sad.

Brad

Bumped because of this speech from a couple of weeks ago (in three parts, of which part 2 is the best).  This is from the Rt Hon William Hague again, his contribution to an Opposition motion (brought by the SNP and Plaid Cymru) that called for a dissolution of Parliament and a General Election:

Sadly, the motion failed.  Great speech though, and worth comparing the reaction on the Government benches to mocking Brown in the EU speech and the mocking of Mandleson in this.

Almost, and then you see the look on her face.
