That's the new "in" look for urban youts.  I see that sort of thing here and there.  It's usually some large sedan jacked up high enough to clear the extra large wheels they've installed.  It looks like a giant Hot Wheels toy.

I've seen worse, believe it or not.

I see that crap all of the time down here

Want to get rid of an old full-size sedan clunker? They'll snatch 'em up right quick. I've seen people buy $500 cars and put a $6000 stereo system and $4000 rims on them. In fact, they even lease the rims around here...

And the kicker? The driver will go inside to a store, pick out $150 worth of groceries, and pay $10 at the register after swiping one of those neat little cards that have replaced foodstamps. And they will go home to section 8 housing, where the parking lot is filled with similar vehicles.

Meanwhile, I have a job and I drive a 16 year old S10 Blazer that I do my own maintenance on. And I have to pay full price for the groceries.

That's welfare for ya! Thank the liberals...

I've thankfully never seen such a thing in New England. Likely because the experience in snow would be brief, but hilarious.  grin

Yeah it's kinda dorky but...
I like the color & ,more importantly,I admire the craftsmanship that made four functioning gullwing doors work.

I would like to see the front suspension geometry though. angel

That isn't craftsmanship. That's a bolt on hinge kit.

And pea soup green? Ugh.

There is no craftsmanship on that "car". It's all aftermarket crap. Rims, liftkit, hinge kit, grill, hood, stereos...

And they don't last long, I presume. Lifting and lowering and the rims and such- that stuff messes up a vehicle...

Hinge kit?Yeah,so what?Someone built it & made it work. It's not just a "bolt on" when you have to cut into the rr body support panels.

You don't like green?I don't like blue.

You have a problem w/aftermarket parts?Or just the ones pictured?

I wonder just how well those doors function in a heavy wind?? There have been times where I could barely open my truck door here in MN due to the wind and it opens normally.

Heh. Rent to own.

Amusing bit I saw the other day in a commercial, there's now combination stores that are furniture/TV rental AND payday advance loans in the same store!

It's like a one-stop shop for economically illiterate sorts who are also bad at math!

I don't even see a front differential . . . anthing that high should be a 4x4.

You should see the riceboys in wintertime around here, trying to maneuver the winter streets using their low-profile unidirectional tires and short-travel suspensions with ground effects packages.  Fiberglass tears quite nicely as they slide through intersections sideways after a snowstorm.  I had to keep myself from laughing when I responded to their mishaps.   Maybe their Kanji stickers should've been translated into "Dumbass".   grin

I probably see a dozen or more stupidly modified cars on the way to work and back every day. My all time favorite was a 1990's TransAm with 24" wheels+Spinners. The car looked like it was going to tip over when going around a corner- sort of defeats the purpose of buying a sports car.

You'll see a few "urban rides" in St. Louis with raised bodies and beefed suspensions, running larger wheels. And some of those folks are running _real_ tires... Why?

Living just outside of Detroit, I see cars like that all the time.  Usually they aren't jacked up THAT high, but close enough.  Since the owners can't drive them on the streets with the doors hanging open, they'll choose a parking lot or city park and cruise around in circles showing off their doors.

I don't see that phenomenon often though, as I am usually at a place the rest of us generally refer to as "work".

Can't say I care for the rest of it, but I do like that paint color. Almost makes one of those old American sedans look good.

I saw a Mustang the other day with those little tiny (~12") wheels that stick way out the side.
