Seem that quite a few Venezuelans are lamenting giving up their guns.

You'd think people would learn...
-
I am sure they thought it wouldn't happen to them.
-
The right people weren't in charge.
-
Next time they need to try governmenting even harder.

I just read they are at the point where people have to rent coffins for their dead. Body goes in the coffin for the memorial service, then pulled out and cremated or dumped in mass graves if they can afford it, or the backyard if they can't afford it and they have a backyard. Also apparently bodies are just being left to rot if there is no family with options and/or money.
So I guess the innovated and created jobs in the coffin rental business, so yay communism?

My Amish furniture dude says that's how caskets are used in US funeral homes- rented out for showing/funeral, then remains are burned, and family has to buy a box/urn to put the remains in.
He was telling me this because he had a barn full of urns/caskets, and was showing me how his are superior because he uses a carefully constructed and caulked particle board box liner, where the major manufacturers (he says there are two of them) used waxed cardboard liners... I think he said if there is 'leak-through,' the casket can't be reused.

“Venezuelans didn’t care enough about it. The idea of having the means to protect your home was seen as only needed out in the fields. People never would have believed they needed to defend themselves against the government,” Vanegas explained. “Venezuelans evolved to always hope that our government would be non-tyrannical, non-violator of human rights, and would always have a good enough control of criminality.”
Remove Venezuelans and replace it with Liberal US citizens.

Also from the OP article:
Chavez initially ran a months-long amnesty program encouraging Venezuelans to trade their arms for electrical goods. That year, there were only 37 recorded voluntary gun surrenders, while the majority of seizures - more than 12,500 – were by force.
-
Here's hoping the Venezuelans join the rest of the former Eastern Bloc in understanding and hatred of Communism.

Coffin rental businesses are aspirational capitalism. Can't allow that.
