The first snow flakes have started falling.
Which brings me to the Emily Post question of the day:
Is it too soon start raiding the neighbors house and securing my "long pork" supply ??
:O :O =D =D =D [ar15]

Just a bit early, yes.

Not until they knock on your door, looking to bum some disaster food off ya. >:D
-
The guests check in, they don't check out.
-
Wait til they've stayed inside a while, fattening up on all the processed/sugery foods in their own larder.

Getting pretty nasty here in NE Oklahoma. Spent a little under 3 hours driving on a 40 mile round trip trouble call that came in just as the sleet started coming down.
On the way back to my office I was passed by an SUV. I honked at him as I went by him about a mile further on. He was in the ditch. Did not look happy standing in the blowing snow looking at his stuck 4X4.

They never do.
In my case, the neighbors are already pretty fattened up. Wouldn't it be smarter to secure them now before they start dropping the starvation weight?

Made it safely home. My 2 mile commute was not fun. I was "breaking trail" most of the way. Kind of hard to tell how much we have due to the drifting. My little Cherokee was having some tough going, particularly going up the big ole hill I live on top of. There have been several times in the 15 years I've lived in this location that it was just un-passable in 2 wheel drive vehicles but this was the first time my little Jeep made me wonder if I was going to get up the hill.
-
Good job there, always good to make it home in one piece.

The key is to build a firepit big enough to rotissery them.

The school I normally spend Tuesdays at, has already closed. Tomorrow, if it's as bad as they say, we will be closed (almost unprecedented).
I dropped by the grocery store last night, for my emergency supplies (a 2 liter of Coke and a bottle of red wine). More people than usual, but nor hordes.

Makes me real glad I'm not in Dahlgren anymore. Staying sort of warm here in San Diego.

Oh yea? Well then, enjoy your firestorms, earthquakes and mudslides instead. :P

Don't forget the rolling black-outs, bankrupt gov. and restrictive gun laws. =)
-
And the hippies, good Lord, all the hippies. We can almost hear the granola crunching from hear. [barf]
-
Actually it seems like since I'm in the military I have less restrictive gun laws imposed on me. Less being the key word, [barf]

That's because you have a 3 or 4 year sentance to the gulag. Most of the prisoners here have been sentanced to life.
I've never seen so many down coats as when it goes below 50 where I live. The locals act like it is the end of the world. I love to see some of them spend a winter in Michigan. =D

Yeah, we were supposed to get freezing rain last night. Our consolation for missing the blizzard.
We got.... rain. Nothing froze and it's supposed to get up to nearly 60 today and tomorrow.
Where's my blizzard!!??
>:D

You can have mine if you want it. The rain is freezing right nicely out there just now. ;)

Or as we Midwesterners refer to it..."the smokehouse". >:D
