The article says she died while "descending the summit." That would seem to imply that she made it all the way up, and that could be why she's shown flashing a "V" sign in the photo with her husband toward the end of the article. Of course, if that photo was taken at the summit, they were at 29,000 feet and not wearing oxygen masks. Small wonder they experienced "altitude sickness." Back when I was young and healthy, I felt light-headed and had other symptoms at the summit of Pike's Peak, and that's only 14,000 feet.
So, if she made it to the summit and died on the way down, did she prove her point, or fail?
