Last week I spilled half an ounce of fine imported Japanese sake on my new $430 Acer laptop and bricked it. I've disassembled it down to the motherboard and carefully dried out all the sticky gooey mess I could find, but there's still a short somewhere. Oddly enough, it ran fine for 24 hours before refusing to start up again, so the system is mostly intact, I just can't find the short.
Does anyone have any advice for me? My girlfriend suggested carefully cleaning the motherboard with rubbing alcohol, but I can't visually identify any damage.
