Help me with movie title!

So a while ago me and my girlfriend were watching a movie on AMC, but we had to leave in the middle of it and we want to watch it again and finish it!

I have no idea what it is called. I am gonna describe it and hope someone knows the movie and can help me out!

It was black and white, and I think it was a "War Era" film. It was sort of a romantic comedy, heavy on the comedy.

It was about this girl who thought it was her duty to kiss the soldier boys before they shipped out. She had a male friend (who is secretly in love with her) take her out so she can have an excuse to go to a farewell party for the GIs. She ends up getting drunk, hitched, and knocked up. She ends up having to use her male friend as a cover, and thats where i stopped watching.

I got the impression that she was gonna end up falling in love with him too or something, and they would live happily ever after.

Does anyone know what movie this is? I'd really like to find it online or rent it so we can watch the whole thing.

You could also check the AMC website and see what was playing at the time in question in your area.

Any idea of the studio?

Any idea what the character's names are?

No, the movie was actualy really hilarious.

And as for looking up the movie on the AMC website, this occurred a while ago; couldnt tell you what day of the week.

And no, I cannot really think of any more details.

I suppose I will try combing through a whole month of AMC schedules.

If it happened over a month ago, you're going to have a hard time figuring out what it was.

AMC apears only to keep schedules on line for a month.

I followed DJJ's advice and signed up for an IMDB account and posted my question there.

Within 12 hours I had a response, and they figured it out for me!

It is called "The Miracle of Morgan Creek" released in 1944.

If you get a chance, I suggest you check it out. In a world where most comedy movies being made now are either crude or just silly, this film is really refreshing!

Given that, one of the comments on IMDB was that this movie was very edgy for 1944. Made me think "wow how much the world has changed since then"

I am BUMMED that this one didn't ring a bell for me.

I've not seen it in a couple of years, but it is a really good movie.
