Where's Blackburn?

I lived near Rio Linda for 10 years. Ostrich and emu farms are the big thing there.  Smells awful.

They probably would've banned Blackburn there, too.

Hey! I just wondered what happened to the guy...

And since he's not here to defend himself, I think we should drop it.

Yeah, and for how many days do I need to be missing from APS for y'all to start talking about me which ends up as a two page thread about "Where's cosine?" Tongue

The Preach an asocial punster?
He's better than Herman Munster
with a bolt in his neck
who sleeps in sheep's dreck,
I'd rather the Preach
than the Munster.

It isn't that hard to get along with people. Any group of people.

If I was inclined I could sign up at DU and participate and not get banned. Even though I disagree with just about everything they stand for and hold dear. I have read their site on occasion so I know the rules and have a feel for what is allowed. It would require self censorship, but that is the price of participation.

The same holds true for any site on the web. Use a little good judgement and discernment and you can hang with any group. If you cannot get along with a particular group of folks then you should probably find a group that fits your style. Why try and jam the proverbial round peg into the square hole?

Some posters I just ignore, others I look forward to reading their responses and the rest are just part of the discussion.

Some posters feel it is their duty to point out shortcomings of a site and/or continually explore the boundries of what is permissable. These are the guys that often get dumped, the signal to noise ratio of their participation is such that they are a burden on the mods.

Ultimately it is up to Blackburn whether he wants to be a participant here, his actions will tell the tale. He knows the rules and how it works around here, if he wants to hang around he will play nice.

Edited to add: I have no opinion on whether he should be allowed to post here or not as I don't have a clue what he did to get banned.

Interesting.

How 'bout you remove all posts made under my Blackburn alias (after a half dozen unanswered emails formally requesting the same under the DMCA), and I stick to my earlier decision to not be difficult and respect wishes made. I do now know what was going on in relation to John Melvin Davis' attempted dealings with me, and it does explain a lot.
Blackburn/Blackbjorn, whomever, you're hardly in a position to bargain with the management or anybody else on this forum, especially after being banned in the first place and then re-appearing under a synonym bad-mouthing the administrators in the process.  The clue bird doesn't visit very often in your neck of the woods, does it?  How long do you think the Blackbjorn user ID will be allowed to linger here? If they don't remove your previous posts, does that mean you'll automatically be difficult and disrespectful?  Promise?

Nota Bene: We (collectively) signed up on this forum and agreed to abide by the rules of the said forum.  If the rules are violated, you might get a polite warning from the admin staff.  Keep doing the same, and you find yourself uninvited, as happened under the Blackburn alias.  Don't like it?  Start your own forum as a personal sounding board, then you can badmouth whoever you like, and use Gunkid/Hardin/John Melvin Davis of the Assault Wheelbarrow tactical mindset (now incarcerated again) as an excuse for whatever ails you.

Methinks it's time to change this forum's software to a program that doesn't let trolls post unregistered.  I'll talk to Oleg about it.  In the meantime, if anyone sees any returning troll being trollish under a new name, please let me know, and I'll do the necessary deleting.  Stinks up the place a bit if one leaves the trash lying around, don't you know . . .
Let's put the fun back in dysfunctional!

Preacherman,

If the forum software would be changed, if anything would be lost in the changeover could you please let us know about that? There would be a couple of threads I'd save to my computer if anything would be lost.

Thank you.
Andy

Yeah, its a real shame that someone had to go and start a whole thread to talk about it.

This is one of those instances where I should just ignore the post, isn't it?

FYI, ignoring a post means you dont respond to it. For example, im not ignoring this one, but i will probably ignore your next one. See how that works?
