Anonymous rickrolls Scientology in London
« on: June 11, 2008, 02:06:42 AM »
I'm not normally down with the whole anonymous thing because I think you should have the stones to not hide from the person or organization you're attacking, but this is funny: http://deathboy.livejournal.com/1082404.html

  • I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I wouldn't ever protest scientology, unless I was anon.
I do not trust them to fight fair.

I used to ride by a "carp" table on my bike in the 1980's (carp was a moonie org) right after Progressive Jim Jones and his debacle, I would yell
at them as I was driving by and they had customers (college students)
I would yell "Reverend Moon is the next Jim Jones" and ask them if they had "any koolaide"

After a week they replaced the college age kids they had at the table with some goons, they were big enough to kick my backside and totally demonic enough to do it and they tried.

I was lucky they didn't harm me, it wasn't a lack of trying on their part.
There used to be an org called "Cult Awareness Network" that tried to help victims and families of cults, Scientology sued , took over their office and phones and simply told people that Scientology isn't a cult.

Scientology has also invaded the "recovery" movement starting a for profit org called "narcanon" which is confusing people with "narcotics anonymous" which is an offshoot of AA .
Many people probably think NA is the same as narcanon which was totally evil trick of Scientology to pull.

I'm sure that Scientology is infiltrating "anonymous" and that anonymous will slowly start telling people how wonderful Scientology really is.
Politicians and bureaucrats are considered productive if they swarm the populace like a plague of locust, devouring all substance in their path and leaving a swath of destruction like a firestorm. The technical term is "bipartisanship".

Scientology is one of those organizations you just don't mess with using your real name, unless you're part of something like the Mafia.

is narconon an affiliate/offshoot of synanon?
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

You click on a link that looks interesting and get taken to a youtube video of Rick Astley singing "Never gonna give you up".

Now if only British Anons would put this sort of effort into getting some of their freedoms back...

But then again, they really didn't put any effort into anything here but annoying people.

What PTK said.

There's many, many belief systems out there far more dangerous than Scientology. Yes, they've done some seriously screwed-up stuff. The scientology-fear-mongering campaign on the Internet however, is completely overrated.

They've done this at a bunch of their protests.  Here is one of the better examples.  I don't care who you are; a couple dozen people in Guy Fawkes masks just randomly dancing is funny laugh

As mbs said, it's not a bad cause, but this was just asinine. A total waste of time that acomplished nothing.

Excellent.  We have a new preclear.  When shall we schedule the audit?

I was actually trying to be funny.  I wouldn't consider them to be violent, but some of the tactics they use to discourage criticism and scrutiny would make me wear a mask if protesting outside their HQ.

THey're really good at lawsuit *expletive deleted*it, and they're real idiots. But they're really low on my evil list, considering they do some good, too.
