Shooting challenges meet endurance racing

About damn time.  Saw a clip on one of the cable shooting shows about it, haven't had a chance to watch yet.  (Gotta love the DVR).

Orienteering, obstacles, and other challenges, covering like 35 miles in one day plus 5 shooting challenges.

Caught a little bit the other night. Wasn't really paying a lot of attention as I had no forewarning; assumed another "reality" show. It did stir memories of "Delta Force" IIRC the book correctly. Thought Col David Hackworth wrote/co-wrote it, but no mention of Delta Force in Hack's Wikipedia bio. Dunno, but found the book fascinating.

Holy *expletive deleted*it.  I need to do this.  Ok, uh...probably not 2012, 'cause my shooting sucks.  But I have got to do this.  Srsly.

Neat!
Though I wish Biathlon were a lot more popular.
I like cold.
I like X-country skiing.
I like shooting.

Seems the Scandinavians got that one right.

They always give it a crappy time slot on TV. But I've watched many of the runs. Got to give it to the men and women that can push that hard and still hit the little target.

Ultra-modern Pentathalon.

Combat pistol, rifle, running, swimming and mountain biking.

Contestants carry all weapons and ammo in a water-resistant case for the whole course.

The ammo, sure, but modern weaponry doesn't necessarily need to be kept dry for it to function, does it?

I, too, am interested...

True that. I do XC skiing and my heart is generally beating like a triphammer after a good hard run. Amazing to me that they can stay on target.

Hell throw on an IOTV and run around doing room clearing.

The trick to biatholon actually save a womens life once. I can't remember the particulars, but she was an oylimpian.

Anyway, she was out on a training run and was kidnapped by crazy guys out in the middle of nowhere, and she had been shot in the attack. Her training for biatholon includes how to go from high activity to low activity, so when she relized that she was losing too much blood, she was able to calm herself to keep blood lose to a minimum.

Needless to say, our coach used to bring this story up everytime we got to hyped up to shoot slowely.

Not much improvement.  Really sucks when they play politics with our equipment.
