I was at my family reunion last weekend and my kid was talking to my uncle about leaving for the military next month and told my uncle I had already made him take pistol classes. My uncle whipped his head around to me and says "You should get a CCW. Do you have one?" I think my jaw must have hit the ground because he's not a shooter, or even a hunter, that I can remember, and he lives far enough away from me that he's not familiar with things that go on here. I smiled and said I did. He nodded and said "Good girl! You have it with you?" I said I didn't..which was true..too much hugging at those things.
"Doesn't do you any good if you don't have it." I laughed and said it was in the van..he nodded again.."Good girl!"
Caught me completely off guard, but in a good way, for sure.
