I rarely come here, and will probably disappear again once I think the move has happened successfully. Not that I don't like APS, just that there aren't enough hours in the day. Anyway...
So far I've:- Reconfigured things so attachments and smileys should work
- Upped the attachment limit so new attachments can be made
- Installed the newest version of the bulletin board software
- Started tweaking server settings so things are beginning to feel kind of snappy, but there's more to be done.
Anything else I should be looking into?
-
Seems to be working well now Derek--thanks.

I'm not experiencing any technical issues. Everything seems fine.
Thanks.

Yes. I often notice an unpleasant odor when Leatherneck posts in a thread. Is that just Marine I smell, or is that a software issue?

One thing that some people are requesting is a means of putting a particular poster on "ignore."
I believe there's an SMF patch or upgrade that will do that.
What's the thought on installing it?
-
Either that or just banninate Fistful. That would save everybody effort.

I'm going to ban everyone and enjoy the solitude.

will it allow me to ignore people who ignore me?
-
Did someone say something?
-
Can I set it to ignore myself?
-
Shut it, you....

You first....

You first....
You..... Need help...

Doesn't look like I can install the Ignore User mod. Sorry.
-
We could just ban all those "Admin" trouble-makers...

How about an Ignore Mod mod?

Well, ever since the move, I get a "cannot find server or DNS error" on my machine at work.
I have nothing in my lmhosts file; the only thing I can think of is their is a DNS server at my work and it hasn't updated with the new server addy (I'm assuming that there is a new addy).
Does anybody know the numerical address for APS? Maybe I can try that...

208.73.221.182, but if your 'net connection is through a proxy server, then there's not much you can do with that IP address, since the APS website seems to be a name-based virtual host.
One alternative is to hunt down a second type of proxy, such as CGIProxy by jmarshall.com. If you run a web search for "nph-proxy.cgi", you may eventually find one you can use.

I've still got to set the hosts file on my upstairs office computer - I'm on my print server right now.
But I'm a little busy, because...
Darn web site is down (NEVER use Godaddy for ANYTHING, EVER), and it'll be back up when me and Derek get everything going over at his place. Seems that the scum-sucking gas-guzzling godaddy folks don't support credit card processing for the sites that they tell you that they do... They want you to buy a $70/month package for that... bleep 'em. They just made a big, and very vocal, enemy.
The dang site had almost 3000 unique hits last week, and over 9,000 different views, and it's down now. ARGH! ARGH! ARGH!
Just upgraded my service at Derek's and now waiting on the DNS stuff to change so I can _reinstall the store software from scratch_ (which is now not all that big a deal, because before the Godaddy folks got through running me through about 8-9 hours of their tech support stuff last night (3 hours sleep), they had me move it, nuke it, and then reinstall, then nuke, then reinstall... I'm nuking again, and starting from scratch at Derek's... Only had a hundred or so items in the database, but sheesh...
Told Derek why Godaddy wouldn't run it on their shared hosting, and his succinct response was along the lines of "No problem - I'll set that up this afternoon."
And he puts up with my idiot calls without telling me what a moron I am...
FWIW, the Lake City Match box cover stickers are... er... were proving to be popular among the guys who shoot highpower... ARGH! ARGH! ARGH!

I don't shoot highpower, but I still think it's pretty pimping. Got my stuff btw Bogie. First I've been around since it got in.

The cc stuff is going further than it did, but still ain't all the way. Going to get on the phone to them in the morning.

We all know why you steer clear of this place.
Fistful.

Any way you could install a patch to filter out the monkey avatars? They creep me out......

What would Bogie do for an avatar then?

Back to the topic at hand, the only problem I'm having is the horrible themes. They're all too busy or blocky with bad spacing between text labels.

If my legs are to blame get credit for Ron Paul's poor showing, can the rest of me take credit for it, too?

I use the Classic YaBB SE Theme, and for me the following images are broken on all forum pages:
last post, sticky, shrink or expand header, reply with quote, powered by mysql, powered by PHP

wish this board had better wap/cellphone browsing...sigh

I still can't get on at work.
I can connect with my desktop at home. I use a laptop at work, so I brought it home and I can connect, so the problem isn't resident on my laptop.
Work is not blocking APS.
Any ideas as to what is happening?
