Xiangqi anyone? First Xiangqi victory!
« on: February 20, 2006, 06:47:50 AM »
After a long time of having my head handed to me I finally was victorious at a game of xiangqi (or Jung Kay in Cantonese, we know it as Chinese Chess, "the elephant game") over the weekend.  Of course, I have been playing people who grew up playing it and in my first few games I was a goner in under 20 moves.

Central cannon opening and then brought my knights and a chariot right down the center.  Hooray!:D

Anyone else play?  Any books or DVDs to recommend?  (English please).
I do not smoke pot, wear Wookie suits, live in my mom's basement, collect unemployment checks or eat Cheetoes, therefore I am not a Ron Paul voter.

ET, I think I can speak for most of the boards we wish you a hearty congratulations, while at the same time not having a clue what you're talking about.

Found this site. Game looks interesting, way too interesting for anyone one in Indiana.
