https://currently.att.yahoo.com/att/cm/man-dies-sinkhole-opens-under-160618491.html
Footage from the scene shows swimmers – who were attending a private work party – clinging to the sides of the pool as the sinkhole swallowed everything including inflatables.
Media reports say Klil Kimhi, fell into the hole, which was 43ft (13 metres) deep and it took rescue teams four hours to reach him.
There is a video linked.
This is something you don't hear about every day. I wonder if they had a crack/leak already that was washing out a hole under the pool.

Don't even google "sitting on the pool drain."

Yikes. And then there's the couple just sitting and dangling their legs over the pool, calmly watching him disappear. Terrible way to die.
It looked like the pool was made of some kind of flexible material, kind of like above ground pools? I wonder if circumstances would have been different with a concrete pool?

The linked article said the pool owners were arrested for negligence - allegedly they built the pool without getting the proper permits.

When that happened in Florida, it took down the whole building.

That search also returned links to some tragic stories.
