In this interview in 2007, Obama advocated sending “price signals” to middle class consumers in order to “change their behavior.”
As in, increase taxes, fees and the like.

Oh, and he also says that we have to guard against the lower class having to pay more for electricity due to greenhouse caps...by the fact that the middle class, who can afford it, can pay more for electricity.

He said it.

If he wins...President Castor Oil will have thoroughly alienated most people within two years.  Maybe not the underclass but most of the rest.  He has huge Nixon potential this guy.  Think resignation, under duress.

I just hope we can recover from whatever damage he does.

But I'm still hoping he doesn't win.

What gets me is the odious dishonesty when they pull this newspeak garbage.

"liberal" has become "Progressive" . . . but it still means left wing.

"Contributions" . . . "price signals" . . . they all amount to MASSIVE TAX INCREASES!!!

And of course, these new taxes will require growing government to administer them . . .

 . . .argggghhhh

Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

If the election were a month away or if the media had actually followed up on this crap a month ago, Obama would be preparing his concession speech now.

"Progressive" conjures up images of forward progress, industrious people making advances, building things, bettering the world with technology...  Progress!

Funny how twisted words are.  I don't see the philosophy of "Progressives" being progress in any sense of the word.  Well, maybe in a strictly temporal sense (As entropy marches on, all truly free societies decay into socialism due to the inherent flaw in how power is distributed - half the country will vote to enslave the other half.)

As a result, about the only way I want the word "Progressive" being associated with me is in the phrase "progressive loading press" or "progressive stamping die".

"Progress" was used a lot by a certain faction favoring the color red early in the 20th century.

I get much more "price signals" from the government, I'll start "changing my behavior" so that I avoid the tax traps entirely.

Like, no excise tax at all on my vehicle's fuel.  I've been toying with building a 100% electric rig from a run-down rice truck.  Have fun taxing the electric charger for that, especially if I run a solar well back at home to collect a charge for it during the day.

In a free market prices are indeed signals to participants as to what is needed.  O'Bama's signals are totally different.  Great example of how to hijack a term and change its definition to suit different purposes.  Just classic.

It's registered right?  We'll just have to add an Alternitave Fuel Surcharge to your tag fee to cover the fuel taxes you're selfishly not paying.  Then we can tax the solar collector....Lets see we'll call it some sort of Hazmat fee for the chemicals in the storage cells.  And a "Living off the grid" tax too, can't let your anti-social tendincies deprive the immigrants of their [free] healthcare.  Keep skipping taxes, and we'll send the BATFET[axes] to collect from your "heavily armed compound" with it's "arsenal of assult weapons and homemade bombs".

Have a nice day, and thank you for supporting your government. =(

Well, let's hope "President Pavlov" never gets to experiment.

All I can say about today's election is that whoever wins people like us need to realize we must be militant.  We no longer have the option to just do the right thing and watch.
