Uncle Joe's admin is doubling and tripling down on their claim that the $3.5 trillion "Build Back Better" (Jesus that sets my teeth on edge) bill will add 0 dollars to the national deficit.

Even Uncle Joe's most erstwhile cheerleaders are calling bullshit on that one.

I do not understand how people buy that "zero dollars" bullshit. The tax money to pay for it comes from US taxpayers. It doesn't matter if you don't like the particular taxpayer segment being targeted. Tax dollars are still paying for it.

This is what economics masterminds like AOC learn in school now - that as long as YOU aren't paying, it's "zero dollars".

Of course taxes will pay for it. The Dems are claiming that it will be paid for -- completely -- by taxes on the rich and on corporations.

The whole zero dollars thing is framed in terms of additions to the deficit.
