Found a new bulk pack (500rd) of "Winchester .22 Rimfire Xpert HV High Velocity" in my stash. Bought a long time ago.
The box also says
22 Long Rifle 36 grains
1280 FPS / 1280 PI/SEC"
exactly that way.
What the hell does "PI/SEC" mean?
Racked my brains over it, and maybe it's something in French, as a lot of the blurbs on the box are. But the only French I know is "s'il vous plait" and "c'est la guerre."
Or maybe it's some kind of metric designation for FPS?
I'm pretty sure I'll give myself a dope slap when someone 'splains it to me (duh!), but I'd sure like to get that mindworm out of my brain and start working on my taxes.
Now remember, fellas, this is the polite society, so be gentle with me.
