Having fun with a label
« on: August 17, 2009, 11:33:11 AM »
" Tactical photojournalist"  http://gunfighterforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=811

Sorry, but that just does not wash.  No camera mounted on the gun, no stills/video with guns giring just under/ahead of the camera.

BTW, look at picture #89 (#5 from the bottom for those without enough toes to get to 89).  A gun school allowed that?  Oh, my! (4 rules nazi :police:)

Snarky comments also appreciated.

stay safe.

The entire event looked to be:

"How to stand in a line and shoot paper at 15 feet with a rifle.  Then kneel at 25 feet and prone at 50 feet."

Doesn't jive with the first post on that forum:

Quote
This is one of three classes that it took to get the 80 high speed low drag LE Instructors of Washington State through the rifle training sponsored by Action Target.

Don't see much HS/LD from the looks of the guys in the class.

Plenty of wind resistance and "untuned motors", from what I see.  Not exactly HS/LD.

Then again, I actually did like these pics:

I could have been there, except it would have had to have been for non-LE long in the tooth non-tactical shooters.  ;/

"High Speed" meant the speed at which they could clear out a Shoney's buffet.

"Low Drag" was in reference to the overhanging guts of some of hte participants.  If you could no longer see their belt buckle = low drag.

I rest secure in the knowledge that this Carolina boy is more tactical than half of those dudes simply by the virtue of not being tactical.

Most people train with their rifles at distance.  Its surprisingly hard to get a quick kill shot at close range with a rifle, especially one with optics or a post sight (like the AR).  Shooting them up close is a very good idea if you've got one for HD/Mall Ninja entries.
