What's with fooling around with your username?
« on: November 17, 2006, 08:17:31 AM »
It was humorous for a while, but don't you think some of you are overdoing it?

Plus, if you change it completely and don't leave any hint of who you actually are in it, it makes it difficult sometimes to accurately identify the author of a post.

(In case you're wondering, I more easily identify people by their username, not their sig line or avatar or anything else.)

I'll change it back eventually.

Right now I'm not motivated enough to bother.

Mine was changed with the software and I didn't see any reason to go back to my old user name.

My old user name goes back to when I had a 486 w/dial up using AOL.

In your defense only a couple days.

At first I thought it would be obvious that I was GoRon, then I realized when you guys posted under different names it would take me a minute to catch on.

I would change my name at THR to Ron but someone that hasn't even visited in years has my name taken. Not to mention I am probably known as one of the local Republican apologists at THR under GoRon, wouldn't want to confuse the Libertarian Clown Posse over there by changing my name.

Awww..  you're just jealous the the floppy clown shoes the LCP wear are larger than those you Republican Clown Posse members wear. : neener :
I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

I think its a childish affectation, but then I am an old guy, and bereft of a sense of humor.   grin

I use the same username almost everywhere, and have for a decade.

I also answer to "Wingnut" in real life with a lot of my fellow squids.

CC called me that in bootcamp in 88, and it stuck.
