What are Saiga's going for these days?
« on: November 05, 2009, 10:04:16 PM »
I know they used to be about the cheapest AK variant around, but I had heard they sky rocketed in cost after the election. With things finally seeming to calm down guns und ammo wise, I'm considering trying to pick one up at some point in the next few months. Anyone have an idea what the street/internet price is for an unconverted example in 7.62x39? Also, what are mags going for these days?

Absurd, at the last gunshow here, in September.

I hear tell that WASRs (yeah, yeah, I know) are starting to show up again at non-insane prices.

I've seen them creeping back down to the low 3's.  I can't envision them going below 3 again.

I'd think $300 would be a pretty fair price. Last gunshow I was at the (few, really crappy) AK's I saw were like $800.  :O

Best deal going right now is the KVAR converted Saigas in 7.62x39 for $500. Professionally done, including the front end. They look very nice.

I hadn't seen those Kvar rifles.  A few months ago, uncoverted 30 caliber Saigas were going for at least $400 around here.  I wouldn't mind getting a second one, but not at the high prices of the last year.
