Title: should gun owners boycott mbna (biden contributor)?
Post by: 30 cal slob on September 08, 2008, 01:12:25 PM
so i heard somehwere on the interblab that mbna (a credit card company based in DE) is joe biden's largest political contributor.

i'm not sure if this has been addressed over @ THR activism yet but wanted to get your thoughts.

i have no idea if mbna is specifically anti-gun, but because the co. is (reportedly) supporting biden they are de-facto anti-gun.

i have no problem cutting up a credit card or two ... and am happy to raise a stink with mbna.

thoughts?

If you don't like their politics, then don't do business with them.

Lots of people dropped Citi after they decided to make up their own gun laws and lock up CDNN's in-process transactions. Accused them of "illegal interstate gun sales" by shipping to FFLs. Uh. Yeah.

I've hardly used a credit card at all since the Fannie/Freddie bail out.

Yes, they are part of BOA.

And I will never do business with BOA.

I went through living hell with them over an account my father had when he died. It took over a year to get it squared away.

Which bank backs the NRA card, Cabela's, or Bass Pro's?

First National Bank of Omaha backs the NRA ones.

I've hardly used a credit card at all since the Fannie/Freddie bail out.

Isn't that two whole days?

I think you're right. I was referring to when I first found out about it, not really when it went into effect.

Either way, unless you just think the IRS needs to know about your credit card purchases, I particularly wouldn't use them for buying anything firearms related.

Then again, if they want the information, they'll get it one way or another.

Anyone know who Wachovia backs, the NRA is a bit soft for 2nd Amendment protection tastes but if Wachovia don't back McCain and Obama in equal or close to I'm off to the First Bank of Omaha for my future dealings.

I had always stayed away from MBNA because of their horrible policies toward customers.
