MILWAUKEE   A Milwaukee man was accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start. Keith Walendowski, 56, was charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed.

According to the criminal complaint, Walendowski said he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn't start Wednesday morning. He told police quote, "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want."

A woman who lives at Walendowski's house reported the incident. She said he was intoxicated.

Walendowski could face up to an $11,000 fine and six years and three months in prison if convicted.

A call to Walendowski's home went unanswered Friday morning.

Well that is one way to throw away your 2A rights.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Guilty of discharging a firearm within city limits I suppose but those other charges. What a crock.

He should be fined for being stupid - stupid should pay - but taking away his gun and facing 6 years in the can?

Felony possession of a firearm? Maybe he's a convicted felon - in which case he loses the gun and gets fined twice as much for being a stupid ex-criminal.

According to the BBC the gun was a sawed-off shotgun.

I bet he felt a lot better, until the cops showed up and hauled him off.

He reminds me a bit of Christer Petterson, the guy most people believe shot Olof Palme...

Was it justifiable?

Mark Chesnutt, Bubba Shot The Jukebox Lyrics

We were all down at Margie's bar
Telling stories if we had one
Someone fired the old jukebox up
The song sure was a sad one
A teardrop rolled down Bubba's nose
From the pain the song was inflicting
And all at once he jumped to his feet
Just like somebody kicked him

Bubba shot the juke box last night
Said it played a sad song it made him cry
Went to his truck and got a forty five
Bubba shot the juke box last night

Bubba ain't never been accused of being mentality stable
So we did not draw an easy breathe
Until he laid that colt on the table
He hung his head till the cops showed up
They dragged him right out of Margie's
Told him "Don't play dumb with us, son"
"Know damn well what the charge is."

Bubba shot the juke box last night
Said it played a sad song it made him cry
Went to his truck and got a forty five
Bubba shot the juke box last night

Well, the sheriff arrived with his bathrobe on
The confrontation was a tense one
Shook his head said, "Bubba Boy,"
"You was always a dense one."
Reckless discharge of a gun
That's what the officers are claiming
Bubba hollered, "Reckless! Hell!"
"I shot just where I was aiming."

Bubba shot the juke box last night
Said it played a sad song it made him cry
Went to his truck and got a forty five
Bubba shot the juke box stopped it with one shot
Bubba shot the jukebox last night
Well he could not tell right from wrong
Through the teardrops in his eyes
Beyond a shadow of a doubt
It was justifiable homicide
Bubba shot the juke box stopped it with one shot
Bubba shot the jukebox last night

I guess it was either sawed off and too shot or he was a felon already.  Given that he was doing something that stupid while drunk seems to me to indicate that it might not have been the first stupid thing he ever did.....at least while drunk.

Shocking I say!

Anyways I believe the correct answer is .50 API or a full drum from an AK-47.  Great videos: http://www.serbu.com/legacy/lawnmwr.htm
