What is this?
« on: February 05, 2012, 05:26:37 PM »
The first two parts are left over from the winch and bumper I just installed.  The shaped tool thing I found in the rig in the jack compartment.  I don't think it is anything that came with the truck.  Any ideas what it is?

Upper left is a bracket of some sort that is supposed to hold the thing that will fall off onto the thing that it will fall off of.

Lower left is something that latches together two parts that, since they are not latched together, will cause something bad to happen.

Thing on the right allowed something to swing back and forth within necessary limits.  As you no longer have the thing that swings back and forth there is no need to keep the limiting thing.  Of course, as soon as you throw it away you will find the thing it connects to.

Hope this has been helpful.

What you have there is a dooflangus, a thingamabob, and a watchadinger.

Wild guess #1:  Since it was in with the jack, it's maybe a way to lever a heavy spare up high enough to get it on the wheel studs?

I love having leftovers parts....then finding out later why I should have installed them in the first place.....

I figured out what the 2 parts on the left are.  One is a license plate mount for foreign license plates.  The galvanized deal is a mount for the winch control box.  Still don't know what the hinged u thing is.

Looks like it maybe some sort of clamp.
