Title: What are the emission laws in Texas?
Post by: Wedge on March 24, 2005, 04:44:34 PM
I am going to be moving to Austin, TX in 7 weeks and was wondering what the emission laws are?

On another note should I buy my Glock 19 up here in NY or wait until I move down to TX?  What are the residency laws there?  I probably need a state driver's license don't I...I would like to get the Glock up here where I have lots of land at my disposal to play with it before I have to pay to use a range...

Austin is NOT one of several counties compelled to do emissions testing. What you seek is here:

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/

You're in luck.

Driver's license information:

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/driver_licensing_control/dlindex.htm

Here's the link to the Texas CHL page with regs and residency requirements, too.

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/crime_records/chl/chlsindex.htm

Welcome to Texas. You'll like it here, especially if you get outside Austin Cheesy

Rabbit.

Wow, TX has emission testing.  I did not know that.

Serious though, get the CHL.  A great benifit of it is when you go and buy a new gun.

I plan on getting the CHL right away.  I already have one up here in NY.
