That is, before he got busted for shoplifting there...

What BS.  They went after the guy who forgot the box of donut holes he was going to buy but probably missed the guy stuffing steaks down his pants.

BTW, the whole high-fructose corn syrup phobia has about run its course, based on the latest television ads I saw the other night. Even the American Medical Association calls it an urban myth, and nutritionally identical to sucrose.

FWIW, I can tell a huge difference between "American" Coke with HFCS and "Mexican" Coke with cane sugar.  The Mexican Coke isn't as "sweet", nor as "syrupy".  It also doesn't leave me feeling like I have a coating in my mouth.  I so seldom drink sodas in general, if I want a Coke, I'll go to the nearby ethnic foods store and get a Mexi-Coke.

That new Pepsi logo looks eerily similar to the Obama campaign logo.   :O

I agree Mexi-Coke with cane sugar is a better flavor, but the last time I was down Tijuana-way, my Mexi-Coke got me some quality time with the water closet.  I figured what could possibly go wrong with a bottled Coca-Cola?  Could've been the ice cubes or the glass I poured it into, though, to be fair...

I was bugging my dietician sister about the whole HFCS thing.  She said it's fine in moderation, but we 'Merkins don't do much of anything in moderation any more these days.  (As she was giving me the dirty eyeball for the 32oz Taco Bell Baja Blast Mountain Dew cup I walked in with...)

Don't drink much OJ since the wife and kiddos are allergic to citrus.  But it is all mine when we do buy it. =D

Putting Mexican tap water ice into a glass that you pour even bottled water into will still get you Montezuma, yes. I know of two people who realized too late what they'd done, not thinking ice = tap water. They were stricken.

OrI could could just drink water, avoid the ugly container and spending the five bucks.

True.  Vitamin C can be had in pill form.

But, then you can't make that most wonderfullest of vodka concoctions, the screwdriver...and those vitamin C pills never seem to dissolve in the vodka....

I also find the bottle molding disturbing.

Somehow, I find that those two images complement each other....  =D

Why is the new molding "disturbing?" Ugly yes, but I don't get disturbed by it.....

I don't know about the marketing thing ...but I think this new Tropicana Valencia is about the best store bought juice I've ever had.

Yeah, it's also $5.00 for a very small bottle made to look larger with the deep side molding.

Agreed it's pricey....but my kids (and I) will actually drink it.  Regular ol' sour orange juice tends to sit in our fridge and grow mold.

Squeeze an orange into a glass. Doesn't make much, and a bit pricy, but oh so much better than OJ from a jug.

Of late I've settled on (of all things) Wal-Mart's not-from-concentrate pineapple juice in a can.

As for milk in a better jug, Canadians have it right: bags of milk. Sounds downright bizzare, and is wierd the first few times, but works nicely and doesn't end with that stupid huge empty jug taking up most of the waste basket.

Bag milk is awesome.  They have it in Israel, too, where I grew to love it. My favorite was the tiny little single-serving bags of chocolate milk.  Bite or cut off the corner and drink.  Awesomeness.

Milk for the machine which dispenses it in MU's cafeterias comes in bags.

Aseptic packaging is the future for most foods.  They look better, taste better, and are generally more nutritious.  Unfortunately, most US companies are way behind the trend....being too busy focusing on this Quarter instead of the next decade.

That's been common for those dispensers for a long time.  Ditto for shake mixes at fast food restaurants.  That kind of bag would be extremely unwieldy without a dispenser.  A recipe for a big mess.

I can only assume these Canuck/Israeli milk bags are different.  Right?
