If anyone is interested in an easy way to contact their elected representatives on 2A issues, Ruger provides a web page with form letter:

Nice, but I would prefer a roll back, starting with GFSZ.

Ruger must be generating electricity for half of New England from the dynamos they assuredly have mounted on top of old Bill's grave.  I bet there's even claw-marks inside the coffin from him trying to get out, and stop this AR and hicap wunderpistol attitude that Ruger has taken on in the last 10 years.

I don't know if they have a Bill Ruger-powered generator, but they do seem to have figured out which political side butters their bread.

Folks who are serious about RKBA are watching and making their Naughty/Nice lists. The folks at Ruger know this and are acting accordingly.

Not paranoid or anything, but all of these letters ID you as a gun owner and you're sending them to the Dark Side.  They just put you on the List.

If there's a 4473 on any of your firearms, you're already on the List.

You say that like half of the members here aren't already on enough lists to require a hand truck to move around their file.
That is all. *expletive deleted*ck you all, eat *expletive deleted*it, and die in a fire. I have considered writing here a long parting section dedicated to each poster, but I have decided, at length, against it. *expletive deleted*ck you all and Hail Satan.

There are all kinds of ways that most of us are likely on "the list" at this point. This is too important a topic not to speak up.  My letters went out to good guys (relatively speaking), bad guys, and unknown alike. The good guys need to know that they have our support as much as the bad guys need to know that we do not approve.

I opted in when I learned the message is targeted to my reps and the White House and I am identified by name, address, etc.  While I likely have only created another tally mark, I think it is a better tally mark than those created by anonymous, hit-it-as-many-times a-you-want-to-or-can sites.

I admire The Firing Line position on the matter:

Letters are glanced at by unpaid interns or overworked assistants, and tossed.

RUger has definitely gotten better on RKBA & such over the years.  Companies can change for the better.

I don't think Bill Ruger had any personal investment in gun control as an ideology. He just wanted to use the fed.gov to cripple his competition, and if it violated the Constitutional rights of millions of Americans oh well. I'm told that was the morally correct choice, as the only thing a business should ever consider is what will profit them the most.  ;/
