Things are getting interesting in Brazil

Short version.  Brazil's democratic party has gotten caught with their hand well and truly in the cookie jar.   Huge scandal, lots of corruption, which considering it's Brazil  tends to be par for the course (and I'm a Brazilian ex-pat saying that), but it looks like they politicians got a little lot too greedy.

Brazil's president has now been impeached in the house, with the senate taking up the charges in the next few days, long drawn out process.

But we have friends in Brazil, and when the 342nd vote was cast in the House for impeachment (the threshold for her to be impeached), there were fireworks and celebrations in the streets

Just think the Olympics are there this summer.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

So is that "democratic party," as opposed to some monarchist party, or fascist party? Or do you mean it's their left-wing party? Or something else?
