Any states offer a non-resident CCW for 18 year olds?
« on: November 17, 2010, 07:10:19 PM »
One of my friends' kids recently turned 18, and he's a pretty squared away kid, so we were wondering - Missouri doesn't issue until you're 23, but accepts any non-resident permit...

IIRC even AK, AZ and NH require one to be 21 to get the paper, although it seems open carry at 18 is permitted/allowed/not made illegal.

Sorry there is no more favorable news.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

They keep making this eternal vigilance thing harder and harder.  Protecting the 2nd amendment is like playing PACMAN - there's no pause button so you can go to the bathroom.

Indiana is 18 but you need proof of employment or owning a business in Indiana for a non-res permit.

No expert on it, but that's what I picked up from handgunlaw.us and I believe it's the only state that issues at 18.

Does he insist on CONCEALED carry? Missouri is listed as an OC-friendly state.

Not Texas. Gotta be 21.  I know its likely to be changed at some point, TSRA and the NRA are on it.

Open carry has too much baggage with it - sorry, but there are just too many folks who make it a hassle...

I never got hassled personally in Virginia or Arizona while OC'ing.

You're not 18 either.  An 18yo will incur more scrutiny.

Bogie, just on the small chance you didn't know, or forgot, car carry is legal.

Oh, wait, that's for 21 and above, isn't it?  =(

Pretty much true. But members of the military or the TXSG can get CHLs at 18.
