Title: Hey, we stopped one!
Post by: AZRedhawk44 on July 28, 2011, 02:53:53 PM
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/07/28/exclusive-us-military-serviceman-arrested-in-second-alleged-attack-on-ft-hood/

Another loony jihadi soldier.  At Fort Hood, again!  What's in the water there?

But, somebody at least grew a pair and a forceful intervention was performed prior to an actual attack.

Not sure it is the water exactly, of course David Koresh(sp) and the branch davidions were based not far from there, but large base, large population equals large scene and news coverage.

But....it wasn't an old lady with a bomb in her bra at the airport?

Sources said Abdo had enough materials to make two bombs, including 18 pounds of sugar and six pounds of smokeless gunpowder -- a possible trigger for an explosive. A pressure cooker was also found.

"He was all ready to go," one law enforcement source said.

Clearly a dangerous terrorist.

Why, a pressure cooker!

He's actually from Ft. Campbell, KY.  Once again, it was the FFl's/Evil gun dealers that tipped the feds to "Hey, this guy is pretty hinky."

He had Kiddie porn on his computer, an "Arsenal" and the ingredients and instructions on how to build IED/bombs.

Fry his ass.

Gives the term "dirty bomb" a whole new meaning...

To use as a bomb case.  It would make great shrapnel.

And we both know that had this been a militia member you'd be poking fun at the media scaremongering along with me.

Not since my friends were blown up in all those militia bombings.  ;/

No, because this guy had really had the ways and means and was starting to put it together.

1)  He's AWOL from Ft. Campbell, KY
2)  He's picked up in Killeen, TX with a butt load of guns, the stuff to make bombs and a bunch of "How to Make IED's, for Fun and Profit!!"  recipes.
3)  He's in a hotel/motel/notel.  Had he been at his house, that's one thing, but this has all the indicators that he was about to commit an act of extreme evil.

And I'll again point out that it was EVVVVVIIIIIIILLLLLL  Gun Dealers that tipped off the feds.

But when you add 1) and 3) that is the problem.

1) with 2) gets him in alot of trouble already.

Funny thing is out of the list of things he had only the 18lbs of sugar makes me raise an eyebrow.  Six pounds of gun powder?  Meh, they sell it in 8lb. jugs for a reason!

What did he have to begin with that hasn't been found?

Yes, but I'm not outside the Main Gate of Ft. Hood with all the stuff (Uniform, ID Card) to get on post and then create a bunch of mayhem.  Totality of the situation, Micro.  Totality of the Situation.

One of the chuckle moments for me was the counter guy ( on TV interviews ) saying the fact that he came there in a taxi was suspicious he said something like "how many people use a taxi to go shopping?" As a former taxi driver I can assure him plenty of people do that!!

I'm worried... I've got about 50 or so pounds of powder stored, some of it in metal cannisters... And I'm looking at about 15 pounds within about 3' of me...

But I'm guessing that the guy had something else working... He's awol to start with, right?

to "free B. Manning" the wikileaks soldier-Manning is out as a gay guy, so if this jihadi
is supporting him his comrades may not be to happy with him

With the sugar,  figure he was going for some sort of FAE?

Also,  can we stop with the PC and start profiling now?  I think it's safe to say we've got a pattern...

You think that profiling means that white guys are good, Ay-rabs bad? People with turbans are bombers, everyone else is safe? Is that what you think it means?

QFT.  If everything was the same, but dude's an atheist white militia member, it would be as hinkey.

Change your name to Bogie Abdul Shabazz, commit a felony (AWOL, IIRC), and move all your stash into a hotel across from a military base and we'll get concerned.

Maybe from your parts on the world gunsmith but in Killeen, TX there isn't many that would shop via taxi.  Gotta know the hood.

Let me add another.....

4) He bought uniforms and patches from surplus stores so he could impersonate a Ft. Hood soldier.
http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/fort-hood-plot-awol-us-serviceman-arrested/story?id=14179096 (http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/fort-hood-plot-awol-us-serviceman-arrested/story?id=14179096)

....and, considering that I'm going to be in the Killeen area next week (and most likely eating at places where Ft. Hood soldiers frequent), I'm kinda glad they busted this guy.....and I'll be taking "extra precautions" just in case he wasn't alone in this.....

True, but there's a cultural denial about the difference between having sex with a man and "being homosexual."

15 pounds?!!?  I've taken a room (10x12x8) apart with a few tablespoonsful, a balloon and an oscilating fan.  My platoon sergeant never asked me again where I learned that stuff.  (Technically I was a crypto maintenance/repair tech.  It was just where the stuff I maintained/repaired was located that was "strange".)

15 pounds, done properly, ought to have displaced a fair amount of Mother Gia.

stay safe.

I didn't aerosolize mine first.  The flour was in three 5lb bags sitting on top of an artillery simulator.  It was kinda pretty though......

well, shoot! learn something new everyday.
Weird, have sex with little boys & you're an awesome jihadi, attend gay pride with your same age boyfriend and you're an evil infidel that needs execution/stoning.

To bad there is no place in the USA where we can drill & refine our own oil for our own uses.
