The Webasto we had in the Sprinter had basically just an on/off switch. That was put in about 15 years ago, so... It plumbed directly into the fuel tank.

The diesel heater that Bogie and I have been talking about aren't the same kerosene wick heater or the torpedo/salamander heaters that people are used to. These are an actual furnace with a engine that acts as a firebox with a separate intake and exhaust for the combustion chamber. Air is blown across the heat exchanger just like a forced air gas furnace.
