Okay, a few I can think of off the top of my head:

Rawhide
Rifleman
Bonanza
Cheyenne
Avengers
Green Hornet
Mission Impossible
Mannix

There must be a hundred more.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force  "We are the Aqua Teens, make the homeys say ho and the girlies wanna scream."
The Simpsons
Firefly's theme is kitchy, but good nonetheless.

The Avengers is a great theme song.

Get Smart was quite good (and not just because Don Adams just died)

Truly the GREATEST TV theme song of all time, as far as I'm concerned?

The theme to Peter Gunn, by Henry Mancini.

The show only lasted 3 years. The first time I ever heard the theme music was on the old video arcade game Spy Hunter.
Carbon Monoxide, sucking the life out of idiots, 'tards, and fools since man tamed fire.

I always liked the themes from 'Have Gun - Will Travel' and 'The Andy Griffith Show', but I mostly prefer to forget the tv shows of my own youth.

Im going to add High Chaparral.  I seem to have a preference for Westerns theme songs.

Good point.  Was it Flatt and Scruggs that did that song ?

Great choice.

Huh ?  Worst combination:  A bad, catchy song that bugs you for hours.  Kinda like Mighty Mouse.

Huh??  That one went over my head.

Some of the other nominations are too young for me.  I quit watching tv from about 1995 through 2003, except for the occasional sporting event.  I watched very little from 1970 through 1995.  Now Im watching Alias, 24, Numb3rs, Medium.

Some of the jazz jams that the Cosby Show used (especially the Bobby McFerrin one) were meritorious.
Hangin' with Mr. Cooper: (reminiscent of the Gap Band and the Bootsy Collins/George Clinton funk juggernaut)
Gilligan and Andy Griffith are the classics.

and the current winner: Firefly.

I directly attribute smart-alecky-ness in our youths to not having watched The Rifleman and Bonanza. Tongue
