Title: Wisconsin will go for Dem President 2020
Post by: Ron on March 06, 2019, 11:20:30 AM
Just ran across a blurb that Wisconsin will be issuing drivers licenses and state ID to illegal aliens.

I’m sure that will create a nice database for the Dems to create bus routes on Election Day.

If they do it like CA, where the licenses look nearly identical to those of citizens, you can bet on it.

I mentioned a while back that I renewed my CA license last December. There is absolutely nothing to keep an illegal from checking the "register to vote" box on the license form. There are no citizenship checks at all. I had to bring more proof of citizenship for my Real ID than any illegal would need to show for a regular license.

All an illegal has to do is check the "register to vote" box and the "mail me my ballot" box and they are US voters.

The new governor proposed it in his budget which is pretty much DOA since republicans have a good majority in the state legislature.
He's probably gonna be proposing a lot of things that aren't going to happen.

Among Evers' proposals that Republicans have promised to reject are expanding Medicaid; creating a nonpartisan redistricting process; legalizing medical marijuana; freezing voucher school enrollment; allowing Planned Parenthood to access women's health grants; increasing the minimum wage; and allowing people in the country illegally to get driver's licenses and pay in-state tuition at the University of Wisconsin.

This. The WI assembly is a 63-35 Republican majority, and the Senate is 18-15 Republican majority. I expect mostly vetos and nothing changing this cycle.

How the heck did WI get a Dem governor with those (especially the assembly) majorities? That doesn't sound like a state full of dem voters. I recognize the big cities will sway things some, but still. How close was the vote?

Missouri was like that a few years ago. We also had a Dem. Senator at the time. Maybe it's more evidence that Americans like a divided government.

Here in Michigan we got a D Governor back again along with a D Att'y Gen and a D Sect of State.  The are full blown socialist tax and spend D's.  The legislature is R and has been for a long time.  The main reason was legal recreational pot was on the ballot and that brought out new voters who love pot and free stuff and they vote D.  The other reason is that even though the Rs fixed Michigan from the disaster of the last D governor, Jenny In The Block You Will Be Blown Away Granholm, they did a whole lot of other stupid *expletive deleted*it the Stupid Party does constantly.  Example:  Voters turned down an increased gas and vehicle registration tax 80-20 and then The Nerd and his R legislature went ahead and did it anyway.

Real estate will get cheaper again soon when the hordes of people once again begin to leave as the D Governor and the toadies in the Stupid Party wreck things again.  Granholm2 is Gretchen The Witch Whitmer.  She wants to raise the gas tax by 45 cents a gallon and reapply the 6% tax on small businesses that The Nerd repealed to jump start the economy a few years back.  The news today is that the R legislature is "wary" of The Witch's 45 cent gas tax.  The People are horrified, but the Rs are just "wary".  Sigh.....

Agreed.

The governor is petty much going to be a lame duck for at least 2 years, though I don't see Dems winning either assembly or senate in the next election or two.

Walker barely campaigned, WI residents got too accustomed to taxes going down.
