Dumbest Politican of the Year Nominations
« on: January 19, 2006, 07:33:20 PM »
All these politicians making stupid bills gave me an idea... An annual Dumbest Politician of the Year award.  And I mean really sending them a certificate and plaque or trophy. I am still thinking of a name for the award... if you have any ideas, let me know.

A few rules:

1) Do not discuss nominations here. Discuss them in another thread. Only place nominations in this thread.
2) Post a reason for the nomination.  Include a link to a news article or piece of legislation.  Unverifible reasons will cause the nomination to be discarded and ignored.
3) Legislation passing is not a requirement for winning the award.  Just writing the bill is reason enough.
4) Whatever the reason for the nomination, the reason must have taken place between Jan 1 2006 and Dec 31 2006.
5) You can nominate as many policritters as you like, just include a reason and a link to a news story or official bill web site.
6) Persons being nominated must be US politicians.

More to come later.

So let's hear what your favorite legicritter has been up to!!

Let the finger pointing begin!

I will start off by nominating City Councilmember Rob Consalvo of Boston.  This dope wants gun makers to install GPS tracking systems in all new weapons. http://news.bostonherald.com/localRegional/view.bg?articleid=120968

Gonna have to go some to surpass the highly-publicized mayor of N'yawlins and his "Chocolate" comment.

But he apologized for that.

Not on the same monumentally stupid scale but corrupt enough is Tennessee's own Sen John Ford (D-Prison), arrested in the TN Waltz Sting, taped while saying he would kill any witnesses to the bribery.

Jim Traficant of Ohio.  Not just for corruption and stupidity, but for a wardrobe that a circus clown would envy and tha absolute worst toupee ever worn outside of a sitcom.

And they just nailed him again for running some sort of scam out of his prison cell!

All of them.

In my book being a politician presupposes rampant stupidity.

Jim McGreasy of PRNJ. He went into office saying that he would end business as usual. Well, he sure did -- ratcheted corruption to a new level. "I am a crooked American."

Are you only interested in US politicians?

Or can I nominate George "Pussycat" Galloway?  (Formerly known as 'George "I salute your indefatigability" Galloway', but now with even less credibility).

Gorgeous George is without doubt an idiot, but I was secretly rather impressed with his appearance before the Senate.

In terms of UK politicians, right now I've got to go for Ruth 'Wonderboy' Kelly.
I do not like, when with me play, and I think that you also

Chris Daly, San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Author of Prop H, currently taking anger management classes, believe it or not. Calling him dumb is an insult to dumb people. Most of my kitchen appliances are brighter.

Daly does not really qualify as Prop H was last year.... Let's also keep this restricted to US politicians.
