Oh, and best episode of Dr. Who, ever?

Without question?

Blink.

And it's one where the Doctor barely appears.

I've watched just about all of the reboot series starting with Christoper Eccleston (whom I did NOT like)

There were times I could swear he was channeling Tom Baker (#4)
Had the same on the ragged edge of sanity quality about him.

I've never thought much of Eccleston at all as an actor. Guy has no range, has two facial expressions, and no tonal quality to his voice.

He's just... bad.

That said, he was part of The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, which was pretty fantastic.

I think this episode is the one where I first saw the Daleks (4th Doctor?).  These were the episodes PBS was running when I watched it in the 80's.  Always meant to buy a complete set to watch, but never did.  I never did watch the newer stuff enough to judge it.

Yep, Tom Baker. Generally considered in the top three of all of the actors who portrayed the doctor...
