Help with naming this song
« on: June 09, 2007, 07:00:26 PM »
It's a popular/rock/etc. song I believe... in a minor key... the opening lick goes: 3rd, tonic... sharped 7th, tonic, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, tonic, 2nd 3rd, tonic... if the rhythm of that lick would be in 4/4 time it would be something like ( I think) 8th note, dotted quarter tied to half tied to first 8th of next measure, 8th, 8th, 8th, 8th, 8th, 8th, 8th, 8th, dotted quarter tied to half...

Anyone have any idea?

Can you hum a few bars?  No, really, can you?

I remember reading an article about a software program that would identify a song when a user hummed/sang some lines.  I don't know if the program is available, yet.

Any snippets of lyrics to work with?

For that matter, if it's got that many eighths it is probably due for a DEA visit, especially with minors involved.

What decade, band, specific genre?  Who does it sound like?

I have no idea. I heard it on a radio somewhere last week. I'll try the link Fly320 provided.

What would you like to name the song?

Give us some choices to pick from.

I have no idea. I don't know the lyrics either.

This is tough, because I heard the opening lick and not much else.
