I'm sure there are better things to use, but the $2 price was right for experimenting with something new, and the color selection at Wal-Mart is faaaaabulous.

It doesn't glow in the dark (I don't think) but my main problem is that I'm just nearsighted enough to have trouble focusing on the front sight, even in broad daylight. I'm hoping this will give it some definition; help it stand out.

Where do you find those, and do they last?

Any office supply store. Cleaning of the gun will start to cause the paint to peal off, but it cheap to reapply.

When I was shooting pin tops the paint would stay on for the whole 20 week season on my .22 pistol.

I  used a frosted light red nail polish.  Seems to gather the light well because of the aluminum powder (or whatever it is) and provides good contrast with targets of opportunity... i.e., rocks & cowpies & even game & bullseyes.

Degrease the sight, dab it on, turn the gun upside down to allow it to drip away from the gun, when a little more than half-dry, strike it off to be even with the top of the sight, allow to dry thoroughly.

Lasts for a significant portion of forever.

Wifey's reaction was to tell me they have "neon" colors. Guess I'm out of style.  =(

Greenish-yellow (a very scientific guy description of a color) shows up wonderfully if you need glasses just to find the gun.

The color in question is just a skosh more green than the color of those shirts/vests roadside workers wear so you can aim at them see them in order to avoid hitting them.  You will know it when you see it.

Another trick is to hit the paint chip section and find what jumps out and scares the bejeezus out of you stands out and then send it with your wife/girlfriend take it to the nailpolish section and match it.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

They keep making this eternal vigilance thing harder and harder.  Protecting the 2nd amendment is like playing PACMAN - there's no pause button so you can go to the bathroom.

I picked that green color in the OP, because it reminds me of the dots on a set of tritium sights. It was either going to be that, or something orange.

You can find them at your local welding shop.

garishest orange nail polish is what I go with.
