Having handled a couple of malpractice cases from similar devices, that resulted in the death of children, please do keep them out of access of the young kids, just as you would a loaded firearm.

Yup.  We don't have kids at the moment, but we do have our nieces and nephews over on occasion.   These will be on a high shelf, out of reach, and possibly far enough back to be out of sight of little ones...

I know...  Think of all the bureaucrats that I don't support by using common sense practices like that.  Imagine what would happen if more people did the same!!!  Entire segments of this elephantine bureaucracy would be completely useless!!!!

Order has been placed, two sets of bigs and one of regular Ag BuckyBalls.  I think they'll make a nice addition to my pre-recall Magnetix set.

Just another step to make my home as child UNFRIENDLY as possible.  >:D

Just 3 days ago I heard a (somewhat obese, bespectacled, lisping) Democrat Congressman tell us the CPSC is no threat to Americans' freedom.

Sigh...

I feel guilty, but my loyalty to Buckyballs does not extend to paying $35 for them.
I promise not to duck.

Get the $15 "Bigs".  That's what I got.  Cheaper, less likely to be ingested, and just as fun. :D

Yeah, they're 'spensive for toys, but I've been wanting a set for a while, and the opportunity to tell the CPSC to piss off was just enough to push the button.

You know, all these things that are now banned were around and available when I was a child. Somehow, I didn't die.

I don't want a nanny state banning things. I will have no problem with educating consumers, but parents should be determining what is safe in their household. (And should have the full responsibility to inform themselves.)

Of course, "responsibility" is one of those outdated notions like "self-reliance" and "entrepreneurship". ('Cause you didn't get there on your own. Someone else made that happen.)
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

You know, I didn't die from those evil things either. I used to buy fireworks that would put your eye out, yet I still have both of them, and the hole in my head from the lawn dart eventually closed up, so all is well!!  =D

You'd think if they were going to ban dangerous stuff, they'd start with government.

When I first saw the title I thought it referred to the C-60 nanosphere structure being banned by some stupid AGW related regulation.

Seems win win to me. You let your toddler eat the bucky balls then you can stick them to the refrigerator and not have to worry about where they are or what they're getting into.

Carbon-60 crystals that form a spherical shape and referred to as Buckeyballs.  I think the discoverer won a Nobel Prize.

Given they are entirely carbon I thought that the title meant that some EPA carbon regulation had wound up banning them
