I got my Bucky Bigs today.  They're bigger than I expected.  obThat'swhatshesaid.

Upon seeing them, SWMBO commented, "they even come with a handy storage box, like your other balls.  No, you can't take those out either". :D

When I told Thing 1 the govt didn't think she was able to play with them without swallowing them, she called the govt "jerks". :D

Thing 2, just as the CPSC feared, swallowed them, so I stuck her to the fridge. ;)

My chicom fleabay ones arrived today.

After about an hour, I FINALLY got them back into their default 6x6x6 cube configuration.

You need to untangle them into one long thread, then make rings of 12, into tubes stacked 6 rings high, not alternating in the "fruit stacking" zig-zag but straight, then you squash two of the tubes together which makes 2/3rds of the cube, then squash the last tube flat onto that.

Except you do this about 20 times where rows get out of whack, or it sticks to itself in the wrong place and you have to start over.

I promise not to duck.

Mine came last week. I couldn't pass up the 45% off + free shipping Buckyballs was offering from their website.

I still haven't gotten them back into their default cube configuration. All it takes is one ball to have a mind of its own, and there goes all your hard work...

Yeah, I have found it is one of those things you can fiddle with as you watch TV.  It does take some repetition to get them back together.  IMO, the cubes are a bit easier, but still can be frustrating.

I just ordered a little earlier, that discount is still valid. 'suckitgroupon' lol

I got a set of the golden ones and they are about the size of BBs.

So I recommend ordering the big ones :)

They are having a sale right now for the next few hours. Everything left is five dollars. Only the smaller kits are included in the sale.

I just got a set of EVERYTHING left, $5 for each item.  I dropped $50.

I figured I'll give a few away to friends.

I take it that means they are dumping inventory since they are being told they can't sell retail?

Looks like their inventory is back to normal. Here's hoping they win.

Well, looks like the big government bureaucracy has won again....

BuckyBalls will no longer be manufacturing the small BuckyBalls and BuckyCubes.

Quote
Goodbye Buckyballs & Buckycubes.
Due to baseless and relentless legal badgering by a
certain four letter government agency, it's time to bid a
fond farewell to the world's most popular adult desktoys,
Buckyballs and Buckycubes. That's right: we're sad to
say that Balls & Cubes have a one-way ticket to the
Land-of-Awesome-Stuff-You-Should-Have-Bought-When-You-Had-the-Chance.
There are still a few thousand sets of Buckyballs,
Buckycubes, and Chromatics in stock and available
for purchase online.
But act fast; once they're gone, they're gone for good.
And while we get ready for the next generation of Bucky, there's still unlimited fun to be had with Bucky Bigs
and Buckybars.

However, they'll be donating 20% of their profits to the American Red Cross through midnight tomorrow.

I'll likely be buying at least one set of the BuckyCubes...

I already have the small ones.  I wonder if that means they will also make large bucky cubes and bars?  A 6" X 6" block of larger bucky cubes would be pretty cool.

This is crazy coincidence. Just three days ago someone on the ship had them and I was talking to them about the situation with them. I actually ended up ordering a set of green balls and black cubes. They had a 50% off sale that day, wonder if it had anything to do with this. I'm glad I ordered mine now, maybe I'll order a few more.
