Where to find laptop batteries?

(1/1)

Omega:
I have an older model IBM ThinkPad that has a battery that has a charge life of about 15 min. I would like to get a replacement battery but I dont know of any reputable sources for older model batteries.

The laptop is an IBM ThinkPad 600e Type 2645 CBH
The battery is an IBM Li-Ion FRU: 12P4064, ASM: 12P4065

If anyone knows of a good place to get a replacement I would be grateful.

Also, if anyone knows a good site for info on upgrading a laptop that would be wonderful too.

Google is your friend.

There were about 30 other vendors that came up. This was just the first one.

type "ibm thinkpad 600e batteries" and click search.

Try Ebay for batteries. I found one for my laptop brand new for $30.00 less than the store. Also, some battery specialty stores, such as Batteries Plus, may have batteries for your machine. Try the Google search as well.

As far as updating your laptop, that may be an issue. I don't know how old your machine is, but there are some pretty cheap laptops out there today. Buying a new laptop may be a better solution.

i found a 4 year old, NIW, never used laptop battery in a box an office mate was tossing

despite various resuscitation methods, "Its dead Jim"

old stock laptop batteries seem quite sketchy...

If you have a Batteries Plus store near you, they can rebuild the existing pack or sell a new one
