A better remedy is to listen to any hit song by Abba. Of course, you then have to get rid of the Abba song  by listening to "Staying Alive".

We're no stranger to the problems of earworms. You can get them stuck in your head something fierce, even if it's a song you
Love. You know the rules for getting rid of them, though. You just have to find something to replace them with. You know it,
and so do I. A true commitment towards a new song will always get rid of it. But some way to permanently prevent them is
what I'm dreaming of. You know how it goes, you get that one song in your head and you just can't get rid of it and you
wouldn't get it from any other song. It's so bad that you just get it stuck in your head over and over till just want to hit an
guy. I just want to tell you how I'm getting rid of it. It's especially hard when you are somewhere you just can't find an anagram. I'm

Due to the battle of the radio at work (which I win cause dipshit got fired) and my bosses love of top 40 stations, I have battled several horrid songs. Call Me *expletive deleted* Maybe, stupid Fireworks, and Jesse's dumb Girl have all been in my head, along with other crap I don't know the titles too.

My solution, sing every word of a song I like in my head. One day, I was pretty much a Best of Led Zepplin album all own my own.

Thankfully, boss will tolerate the classic rock station if I change it before I leave and is fine with the new rock/alt. station, and as long as no new employee comes along and messes with the dial, I'm good.

At the last place I worked (1978 to 1987), the boss and his wife liked Julio Iglasias. Fortunately their taste was overridden by the votes of the other employees. Unfortunately, most of those other employees liked Devo, B52's, and other two-hit wonders.
