Title: Got Cheese? We do.
Post by: Brad Johnson on October 18, 2021, 04:29:29 PM
Well... not now, but soon. A metric buttload of it.

Leprino Foods building an 850,000 sq ft mozzarella cheese factory here in Lubbock. 600 jobs and nearly $900 million in capital investment.

Wow. When I moved here 35 years ago, the only industry in town was Texas Instruments and Lubbock was dreaming for a few of the medium-size mainstream retailers to come in. Now, we're getting new chains like crazy and then something like this comes along. Kinda hard to wrap your brain around.

Is there a big dairy industry in the Lubbock area?  The milk has to come from somewhere.

If the stench of the stockyards near Lubbock is anything like Amarillo -- you'll never even notice.
