My guess is a test run for later. I have a bad feeling about that peninsula.  I've got a feeling that there's a power struggle going on and the generally the hard-liners set the tone when that happens.  It becomes a game of "I'm more communist then you." and the body count really starts to rise.

It isn't looking good.

If something were to happen between the two, it could get big in a hurry.  Assuming Obama would actually back S. Korea.

Yes, he would.  He'd have Kerry issuing some very strongly worded diplomatic notes, one after the other, until the Norks returned our people and headed back across the line.  It will be beautiful to see.
