ATF head Melson steps down

But, he moves to the Office of Legal Policy, where he's going to advise on forensic policy.

'Cuz the ATF has such an awesome, stellar reputation for that kind of work, too.... [sigh].

Some guy from Minnesota is taking over the ATF.  Anyone know anything about B. Todd Jones, a US District Attorney?  Being in MN, I doubt he had anything to do with Gunwalker.  Aside from that, if Holder appointed him, then I'm reasonably sure he's a *expletive deleted*che of the first order. ;/

Looking forward to Congressional Inquiries, still.

So long as the ATF doesn't like the ordinary gunowner or truly believe in RKBA it doesn't matter who's running the joint.

He's a former Marine.  He can't be totally anti-gun. =D

I've known a number of ex-military folks (including my own father) who freely advocate various civilian firearm restrictions, especially  concerning so-called "assault weapons". Most are woefully ignorant of the relevant laws and history of the subject.

He wouldn't have been tapped had he not been down with the agenda.

Well, yeah, I guess you're right about military guys not always keeping the RKBA faith.  He would not have gotten this far in the system if he didn't get with the program.

Despite the headlines, he hasn't stepped down or been canned....he's been put into the Bureaucrat Protection Program....they'll keep hiding and moving him around until Issa & Fox News can't find him anymore....
Impressed yet befogged, they grasped at his vivid leading phrases, seeing only their surface meaning, and missing the deeper current of his thought.

It wasn't a step down, it was more of a side-step shuffle:

I had a company commander that was completely applaud that I own guns.  He made me store them in the arms room and I (along with everyone else who had POW) had to ask permission to take them out to go shoot.   ;/

He threatened me with an Art. 15 once when I had the gall and audacity to take them back to my quarters to clean them.

He was a tool in more ways than one.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Shovel-ready jobs? (Especially since we didn't dig a grave for Osama.)
