New photo radar system that can track up to 32 vehicles across 4 lanes of traffic. It will automatically take a wide-angle view and a close up shot of the vehicle's license plate. It will not be available in the USA until the 1Q of 2012. Mash the link to watch a video.

I think a license plate frame made out of, oh... say 30 of these (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/3w-infrared-led-850nm-ir-emitter-on-2cm-star-1-5v-1-7v-dc-14061), strobing at 30/60Hz or other common video refresh rates might be a good idea.
