A Marine vet for whom I've done some work over the years has a really cool project up on IndyGoGo. He and his dad were buying WWII-era letters and diaries from estate sales and auctions, researching the men who wrote them and then trying to find interested living family to give the stuff back to along with context and explanation. They were doing this on a small scale just for fun and someone the dad knows talked them into trying to make a show out of it.
