Assuming this isn't an April fools joke...

How pissed would you be if your mandatory student fees went towards paying snooki $32000 to give a speech???

What's a snooki ?

(If it's like a Wookie, then yeah, that's money well spent.  =D ;)  )

Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,

I would have done it for $3200 + air fair, lodging, and meals.

It was supposed to be a comedy act?

What the hell? How is watching a really stupid bimbo, who's not even attractive talk about the worst 'reality show' on tv funny?

More like disturbing, scary, really really hope she gets spayed.....

Ahhh, from readin BSL's post a "snooki" is a reality TV show persona.

Not having ever watched a reality TV show, and not currently having TV, I can fully appreciate the nothing that I'm not missing.

230, would you do if $32 in change and a bus ticket ?

 =D :P

Wait a minute. I'm confused. I thought Rutgers was some sort of educational institution.

If this is not an April Fools joke, somebody needs to be looking for a new job. Is the correct term for an "educator" who spends that much student money on a Snooki guilty of Misfeasance or malfeasance?

there are enough references to this story on "legitimate" news sites for it to look like an actuality

if it's an April fooler, its gone EPIC

This has been talked about since before April 1st, so I'm pretty positive it's legit.

As I mentioned in a similar thread about other worthless celebrities, I don't begrudge them making tons of money if people are dumb enough to pay. I do have a problem with a group at the university using student fees, seemingly without student input, to pay her. Much like when unions use member fees to support political causes that many union members may find deplorable.

In other media stories on this topic, I read that the students chose her as a speaker, not the administration.

OMG, if that is the case, what can be done? Cancel their accreditation?

I think the term you are looking for is "Fiduciary Responsibility".  Which in this case appears to be sorely lacking.

I'm from NJ and live here. I was proud of the sopranos and the filming in NJ. Many good actors and musicians are from NJ.
This skank on the other had isn't even from NJ. I can't even watch that piece of crap show Jersey shore.  [barf]
If you actually are from the jersey shore we have many names for those types of people.
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?
