Welcome to the new home of The High Road(tm) forum.
My name is Oleg Volk, and I am the owner of The High Road(tm). When I started the forum in 2002, my vision was to create a place where people from around the world could engage in cordial discussion of RKBA related matters. Since then, you have helped make The High Road(tm) one of the best places on the web for learning about firearms, for educating new shooters and for supporting effective advocacy of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
Due to pending legal issues, I am moving the forum to a new home at TheHighRoad.us. This is the one and only official site at this time, owned by me. The same high standards of civility apply. In the near future, we will provide more than just a forum. The High Road(tm) is becoming an information and activism center for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
With the help of GeoVario, our new host, The High Road(tm) is now online in its new home. The new location of The High Road(tm) -- http://www.thehighroad.us -- will serve our members while the conversion of the .org domain name by THR's former sysadmin is being challenged in court (Copy of the complaint available: http://www.geovario.com/legal/Complaint1.pdf ).
Feel free to mirror this announcement on your blog (here is a link to mine with details of this matter and how you can help. http://olegvolk.livejournal.com/474369.html ). If you link to THR, please update the link to point to thehighroad.us Eventually, both .us and .org addresses will point to the same site again.

hmmm, I can log in and see thread titles as normal. When I open a thread it opens up empty with no messages.
edited to add: when I log out I can read threads, logged in I can't.

I can post a reply, but it then shunts me off to author anohter reply on the smae thread.

'Course my wife won't be surprised, since I'm always the last to know about anything else, too.

Does not appear they will be identical for long, seems at least 1 banned member in thr.org is now a moderator at thr.us (Kestrall). (sp?)

Yeah, if you have them both up at the same time, it's kinda interesting (though somewhat headache inducing) to see the variations begin. It's like one a them there parallel universe things... :laugh:

I am able to read, as long as I'm willing to tolerate the latency, but all my attempts to post have failed.

I'm sure Oleg and the crew are aware of the problem(s) but I'm still having issues when logged in. When i log out I can read the threads.
This is a just a heads up since if I'm having this problem chances are so are other folks.

I got in, finally. Mr. Volk will eventually get things sorted out there, I'm sure.

Must ask: are THR.us and APS both on the same server? They seem to be having similar loading issues from my end.

Not sure why I cannot see posts while logged in over there but I discovered a work around.
I have changed my forum view at the bottom of the page from "The High Road vBulletin 3 style" to "Child of The High Road vBulletin 3 style"
Everything is normal now and all is right with the world :)

Just noticed thehighroad.org is down for maintence for adding a "spam filter".
Wonder if the "spam" they're trying to filter is a global search-n-replace for any text string with "highroad.us" in it? :lol:

I asked why on THR.org the mysterious " you don't know the whole story" answer isn't given. Above is Justin's response.
To me, THR is Oleg Volk. If he wanted to turn it into a Brady Campaign site, that would be his decision.

THR.us has had many theething problems. Speed is good now. I thnk permissions got corrected also. vB upgrade removed all capabilities from staff and wasn't fixed till late last night. A really fast, high-end server will be in operation shortly and .us site will fly. Feel free to update links and to post about this on blogs and web sites.
I've been unbanning people who were banned on .org for discussing the takeover. Also, Mike Irwin just got un-banned for merit. His actions here at APS were worth commending.

Every time I try to change my password using what the system spits back to my e-mail, it says "Welcome Mike Irwin" and then defaults me back to a page telling me I'm not signed in.
