Happy 2021!

Happy New Year,  you bunch of reprobates!

"Leftism destroys everything good." -  Ron

There is no fixing stupid. But, you can line it up in front of a wall and offer it a last smoke.

There is no such thing as a "transgender" person.  Only mental illness that should be discouraged.

The consensus I am getting is "It better be!"

Went to the PO today to pick up a package and buy some stamps.  I asked for a book of the Flag ones.  She said they were out, how about "The Snowy Day" stamps?  I said, "You have any 'Goodbye 2020' stamps?" and the whole line of people behind me laughed.

Say, how can you call me a reprobate when I've never been a probate in the first place?

But Happy New Year anyhow.

Crap.  The New Year is old enough to drink.  That can't be good.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

It probably could use one, or three.

Happy New Year!
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Yeah, I'll wish you all a Happy New Year, but qualify it with a prayer that 2020 wasn't just a prelude to 2021. (Call it pessimism, but - eh - history, etc. ...)

Why does my calendar say December 32?

So I had some black eyed peas today for good luck and my Mother made some stir fry cabbage stuff.  She said I need to eat greens as part of a good luck food.

Do you have any traditions you do on New Year's or any good luck stuff you try to do at the beginning of the year?

I have black-eyed peas every New Years Day; not really for good luck, but to remember my [Great] Aunt Mary.  She was quite superstitious, and it was important to her that we ate BEPs for good luck.  Oddly enough, she wasn't into the "and greens, for money" part.

I don't consider myself superstitious about BEP's.  This is the first time in a few years eating them.  I like them anyway.

I have not heard of a black-eyed pea tradition.  My mother had pig's feet, pickled herring, and some othr things like corned beef for "luck" right after midnight. Kind of a pan-European hodge-podge of traditions, I suppose.

I never analyzed it any more than other things like you'll get money if your palm is itching.

Wife1 and I never continued this after we moved out to Colorado.

Anyhow, I repeat: Happy New Year !

We had Black Eye Peas, Cabbage & Hamburger, Honey Cornbread (Don't Judge Me!), and seasoned pork tenderloin.
I might not last very long or be very effective but I'll be a real pain in the ass for a minute!
